Hilda's Story
A small miracle grew from a dark beginning.
Hilda, a newborn baby girl abandoned by her mother, was found badly burned in 2016.
The Food Step team pulled her to safety and a new chapter began.
From the moment she arrived at the hospital, kind hands surrounded her with care. Alain Goetz stepped in to sponsor her hospitalization, covering months of treatment and medication when she needed it most. For six long months, she fought for every breath, every smile, and every step toward healing. Today, she is a bright, joyful girl—attending school, laughing with other children, and discovering the simple wonders of childhood.
In May 2025, she underwent a life-changing surgery to free the tight skin on her legs—a lasting reminder of the burns she endured as a newborn. The operation was generously sponsored by Alain Goetz, who has pledged to care for this wonderful child.
Hilda’s story is one of resilience, love, and community, and it would not be possible without the Food Step team and its founder, Miss Natalie, whose unconditional love and care have helped bring light back into Hilda’s life.

Christmas at Entebbe Children's Welfare Primary School
The festive season at Entebbe Welfare School was filled with joy, laughter, and a true spirit of togetherness. Children, teachers, and community members came together to celebrate Christmas with songs, dances, and shared meals that lit up the day with warmth. For many of the children, this celebration was more than just a holiday gathering—it was a moment of love, belonging, and hope. The event reminded everyone that Christmas is not only about gifts, but about creating memories and nurturing the sense of family within the school community.

Adoption of Alvin the Chimp
One of the heartwarming highlights of our work has been the adoption of Alvin, a playful and curious chimpanzee from Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Alvin’s story is a reminder of the importance of conservation and protecting vulnerable wildlife.
Through adoption, support is provided for his food, medical care, and overall well-being, ensuring he continues to thrive in a safe and nurturing environment. His journey reflects a commitment not only to the children and communities of Entebbe but also to the natural heritage that surrounds them.
